Penang Views

Getting on a plane gives me that shiver of anticipation and adventure. Where to next? What new experiences, new food, new friends? I was not let down in my excitement. There's lots to catch up with. But first a few photos of Penang by mr G and me.
View from my window at Tanjung Bungah Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel. I used to visit my granma here when it was all fishing villages.

We got to go on the ferry - childhood nostalgia!

mr G took the girls to the Butterfly Farm in Penang and he took some lovely pictures.

I like this picture of me rushing to get to the hawker stalls on Macalister Road. Charge! Can't leave Penang without some Char Kuey Teow. I have to say that the man who sells pork intestine porridge here was really rude and action. hmf! goodness me, he has a high opinion of his place in the universe!

More later, gotta do my after holiday laundry and housework. sigh.

Back to reality, huh? I always hate that feeling.

These makan sellers ar...when successful, always action one. Don't they realise that one day, they'll come tumbling back to earth on their hard asses?

Aww, you went back to Penang. That's so nice. Talking about ferry nostalgia, yes, I used to get aboard ferry so much when I was little and it was certainly one of the highlights of my childhood memories (standing at the deck and watching for jellyfish on the sea, etc.). I love the ferry, gotta do it the next time I go back. :)

Rasa Malaysia, heyy nice to see you - yes the ferry is fun - it had that burning rubber, rusty metal and car fumes smell still - and mixed with the oily sea smell- takes me right back. And watching Komtar get nearer and nearer!

My grandmother used to live in Tanjung Bungah as well! I remember going there on holidays and playing on the beach - no highrise hotels then! And like Rasa malaysia, I used to watch jelly fish from the ferries as well. Brings back some good memories!

hello wokandspoon! yah Tanjung Bungah full of high rises now - didn't see any jellyfish this time from the ferry - not sure I ever did, thought it was a myth my parents made up to shut me up during the crossing!
