Off to the Tower with you!

Ooh crown jewels and ravens and the echo of the executioner's axe. Or I could just be fighting my way through hordes of tourists. Quite excited really, never seen a Beefeater close up before! I say!
This photo is from the Royal Palaces website.

I'm off to London to see the queen, err... I mean YM and Kak Teh. We're gonna have a grreat time!

Have a really really good weekend folks.

Hi, MsiaGirl! My relatives in Taiping had the surnames of Lou, Lau, Low, Hoe and Looi. Any ring a bell?!

Joe: What a surreal but wonderful weekend I've had! Will post when I am not so dead on my feet.

Argus: Hi there, that's a lotta L's (and one H *smile*)but none of them ring a bell - they must have crossed guns or teamed up at some stage - or maybe that is simply what uncles do in Taiping!! maybe Maxwell Hill was alive with the the song of shots! One of my uncles had the nickname 'Bulldog' at King Edward School there, maybe they went to school with him?

I hope you came back safe and sound, sweetie.

hehe...Bulldog? I guess I'm not related to either of you, although I do believe that hunting for boars is quite a popular hobby here. My friend's father hunts for boars quite regularly, even till today.

So did you get to meet the Queen (not YM...the real one!)?

London. All I remember is having the great fortune of snapping up the very, VERY LAST ticket to a show starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. Both Dames are brilliant on film, but even more so on stage.

That's probably what I'd do if I pass that way again... go watch more shows. Nothing like catching something done live, knowing it's different from all the shows before it, and all the shows to come after. And then, it's over. No DVD to trap it in eternity. A little something brief and beautiful.

Have fun, dear! :)

Hah! Bulldog. I'm sure my bro mentioned that nickname. He, my pa & one sis (Sixth Form) went to King Edward's.

Ya, lah. In Taiping, not much to do except make babies or kill big and not-so-big game.
Good thing I only waded in streams, caught and let go of giant tadpoles, climbed trees, played five stones, hide-n-seek & masak-masak with a real but tiny charcoal stove.

Kenny: sounds like a great experience of a show - those are the grande dames alright!

Argus: figured if you were from that town, then the nickname might be familiar! Nice to have a connection with you. I do go back there everytime I am home, I really have a soft spot for it.
